You Are....

You are such a big help to me.

I needed to get so many things ready before I went in to work tonight.  I tend to get rushed a bit 'curt'. I may even hurt your feelings a bit.  However, there you are - helping me get everything done and accomplished.

Thank you so much for helping me!  You are a great pair - you two brothers! Helping us get ready to leave the house on time!

Pulling up the Garden

It's that time of year again. It's time to pull up the garden!  We had some really great tomato plants this year. Our favorite was the Black Cherry tomatos.  This our first year planting them.  What a wonderful surprise!  The vines were over 20' in diameter and the root systems were almost 1 foot down.  Some of them spread to over 5 feet in length!  Amazing.  We were able to put up 32 quarts of salsa, over 32 quarts of juice, 5 quarts of sauce, and about 12 quarts of stewed red and green tomatos. Wonderful! I am so thankful!

My gardens.... they can look a bit messy when we first pull everything up, but then it starts to look all tidy again.

We still have carrots in the garden. I'll probably can them this coming week.  They grew to great proportions also!

Now it's time to decorate with autumn ~ although, I am already planning dimensions for next year's veggie patch...

You had to put your beloved rat down today.  We thought maybe he had had a stroke because his back half no longer worked.  His front half was still happy!  The vet said that he thought Mojo probably broke his back upon a fall from jumping up and down.  He didn't seem to be in any pain when we handled him, thank goodness.

You were very sad. We all were.  Mojo was an amazing rat!  The best thing about Moj' was that he loved us all back. He was a great cuddle and loads of fun.  He made us say, "Awwww!" often because he was so dang cute.

Letting him go was hard on all of us.
